These vocabulary cards and posters will help your students to understand basic geographical terms and concepts used when studying Geography. Use them as a reference point on your Geography wall or on your word wall as words of the week.
Each vocabulary card has a matching poster with a student-friendly definition and all of these terms come directly from the ACARA HASS curriculum.

Aligns to the following curriculum strands in the Australian Curriculum (ACARA):
for Foundation Year and Year 1, 2 and 3 Geography:
- The representation of the location of places and their features on maps and a globe. Describing the features of their special place based on what they see, hear, smell and feel. Make observations about familiar places and pose questions about them.
- Students identify and describe the natural, managed and constructed features of places at a local scale and recognise that people describe the features of places differently. They identify where features of places are located and recognise that spaces can be arranged for different purposes. Students identify changes in features and describe how to care for places.
